Bright Future: 2019 Membership Campaign

It's going to be a great year!

Our approach is to create awareness and pique interest in manufacturing, and to bring people
together to help develop our ecosystem.  In order to do that, we need your help!   We’re looking for members, sponsors, and  ambassadors.

a bright future for business

The good news: Manufacturing is up by many measures.
The bad news: We don’t have enough skilled people to help fill the jobs out there.
The great news: AWT has been able to make a difference.
Through our RoboBots program, we’ve reached at least 250 students directly every year since 2011. Every year, those students tell their friends and parents about what they’ve learned about manufacturing, and thousands of spectators cheer them on at the competition. And that’s just a small sample of what AWT does to promote manufacturing careers! Your membership supports the work we do, but also allows you to

  • Scout out young talent
  • Develop your workers’ leadership skills and technical ability (through scholarships, mentoring a team, and more)
  • Meet with other local manufacturers to develop relationships at quarterly events
  • Help build your talent pipeline by connecting with schools

a bright future for the community

When industry succeeds, our cities succeed because manufacturing is an integral part of Ohio’s economy.
• 17% of the workforce in Lake & Ashtabula Counties,  14% in Geauga
• About 17% of Ohio’s GDP (largest sector)
• More total payroll statewide than any other sector
- Ohio Manufacturing Counts 2018-19

“ The future could be bright for US manufacturing, but it will require a skilled
workforce to deliver continued growth and remain competitive on the global stage.”
-Deloitte, November 14, 2018

a bright future for people

We promote manufacturing careers not just to support  the businesses that need talent, but also because these
can be rewarding, fulfilling, well-paying jobs. Many local businesses will also help valuable employees pay for
college. Our goal is to help faciliate connections between education and business - so that students of all ages
can see for themselves what manufacturing is really like.  We help schools find facilities to tour, business advisory
council members, classroom speakers. You might want to consider manufacturing as a career for your student, your child, or yourself!
